This stunning property with magnificent views across the rolling hills to the Pacific Ocean is right up my alley! The style, the use of materials, the decor … and it is situated in one of my favorite parts in the world: the Byron Bay hinterland in Australia. Nestled on 120 acres on top of Picadilly Hill, The Range is a property (that can be rented!) encompassing all elements of natural living. Drawing on elements from Spain and European Summer memories, it is a home, venue, destination and hub for those looking to immerse themselves in the richness that is beautiful architecture and natural surrounds, with a conscience for the environment. The Homestead includes open plan living and kitchen, inside and outside dining areas, sunken lounge, butlers pantry – perfect for entertaining, cosy TV Room, large laundry and powder room. All with hand crafted furniture by local artisans, items built from repurposed timbers, state of the art features are interwoven with this rustic simplicity. The Range features textured, soft internal and external walls inspired by summers in Spain. These create a fantastic back drop for photoshoots and location hire. There are other walls clad in timber that tell more of a ranch story – some say the essence of The Range is reminiscent of Georgia O’Keeffe’s artist retreat in New Mexico. To add to the aesthetic, the ever-present stunning backdrop of nature and the rolling hills changes through every window, as the day unfolds. Everything is designed with a respect for nature as owners Tom and Emma Lane are committed to giving back to the environment. The Range has been consciously designed to ensure it sits quietly in the landscape, using natural material and considering the native surrounds in every element of its creation.

The Spanish style house is simple yet stylish. I like the idea of using natural material in most of the design. Thank you for the tour!
