A Cabin in Echo Park, Los Angeles

I love our home but sometimes I dream of living in a cabin. It’s cosy, (often) small so easier to clean and ‘stuff’ is easier to manage as you are forced to have less things. This cabin in in Echo Park in Los Angeles made my heart beat faster. The early 20th-century four-room home is owned by interior designer Leanne Ford. Those of you living in the US might know her Restored by the Fords which is aired on HGTV. This tv show follows Leanne and her brother as they turn some of Pittsburgh’s most dated buildings into magazine-worthy homes. Leanne about her LA cabin: “Basically we made the guest house on our property before we bothered with the “real house.” This 1906 cabin was on a large piece of land in Echo Park and being sold as a tear down. Being emotionally involved in all things old I couldn’t let that happen!! So I spent the next year and a half fixing her up. But I didn’t want to make her anything except the little cabin style she was… so I went with it.” Leanne is known for her use of white paint. The paint color used for this cabin Sherwin-Williams’s Shoji White, which is an off-white.

  • Beautiful – just simple and beautiful!
Can you please tell me from where the white fireplace can be bought?

  • Absolutely gorgeous. There are so many beautiful areas of EP. May your home be Blessed..

  • Leanne Ford just has an ease to her style which is lovely in all ways. To the commenter, above me, JAKOB ØRSTED PEDERSEN, the fireplace is most likely from Malm, a small company which is based in Santa Rosa, California, USA.
